Q

My child understands the solution but cannot solve similar questions independently. What should they do?

A
Understanding a solution is different from being able to solve the question independently. True mastery is achieved only when your child can solve similar questions confidently without guidance.
  • Close the solution and ask your child to explain the solving method from memory.
  • Click Generate New and attempt a new question variation independently.
  • If your child struggles, start with questions carrying fewer marks and a lower difficulty level before progressing to more challenging questions.
  • Ask your child to identify the relationships, concepts and solving method before performing any calculations.
  • Find other master questions that assess the same concept and solve them independently.
  • Return to the same master question a few days later and attempt another question variation to reinforce long-term retention.
  • Independent success across multiple master questions and new question variations is the strongest evidence of mastery.
