Q
How can my child reduce careless mistakes?
A
Careless mistakes are often caused by rushing, missing key information or weak checking habits. Help your child develop a consistent checking routine.
- Use the Reports page to identify repeated error patterns.
- Check whether mistakes are caused by misunderstanding the question, missing units, calculation errors or answering the wrong question.
- Reattempt similar questions using Generate New until your child can solve them accurately.
- Encourage your child to underline key information and write units clearly.
- Build a simple checking routine: calculations, units, reasonableness and final answer.
- During timed exams, reserve the last few minutes to check completed questions.
- Review incorrect questions after every Focused Practice worksheet or PSLE Look-Alike Exam.
- Praise accuracy and careful thinking rather than just completing questions quickly.
