Q

Should my child practise by topic or by exam papers?

A
Both are important, but they should be used at different stages of learning.
  • Use Topic and Concept practice when your child is still learning new concepts or has identified weak areas.
  • Complete Focused Practice worksheets until your child has successfully completed Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 for each concept.
  • Attempt PSLE Look-Alike Exams only after the main Topics have been reasonably mastered.
  • Use timed exams to improve speed, mixed-topic recall, time management and exam stamina.
  • After each exam, review the Exam Report to identify weak Topics and Concepts. Use the recommended links in the report to practise similar question types, and watch the Video Explanations whenever your child is unsure of the correct solving method.
  • Continue alternating between targeted Topic practice and timed PSLE Look-Alike Exams to strengthen understanding, build confidence and improve overall PSLE Math performance.
